Traditional Custodians: Wadawurrung
An extensive Multi-Disciplinary Centre in Geelong, FPPV designed and managed the refurbishment of an existing two-level building to accommodate three organisations – Victoria Police SOCIT (family violence, sexual ofences and child abuse investigation team), The Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre (formerly Barwon CASA Minerva) and the Department of Health and Human Services, all providing counselling services.
The ground level incorporates shared facilities, including reception and waiting areas, interview and conference rooms, a remote witness room, a forensic clinic and an art therapy space. The fit out needed to accommodate both police specifc requirements, shared spaces for collaboration and coordination, and consultancy spaces, all with a welcoming and safe public interface. The combination of these services within the same space allows improved sharing of information between the services, and a more supportive experience for victims of violence. It also supports a team approach to provision of support, counselling and investigation.
Project Value: $2.14 million
