Whitten Oval VFL Redevelopment

The Whitten Oval VFL Redevelopment involved the modernisation and opening up the change rooms to allow for the Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL). This included allowance for current disability standards.

The construction also included coaches and media boxes over the grandstands to replace the shipping containers that had been used in the past.

The change rooms in the basement of the existing ground stand included home and away unisex toilets and showers, with adjustable dividing operable walls, change room lockers and seating, meeting room with tiered seating, umpires change facilities and strapping room, Medics office.
The internal fitout was made suitable for footballs and footy studs. Ceilings protected by metal framed wire mesh panels. Thick Rubber flooring suitable for footy studs.

New coaches boxes on the western wing were also installed for home and away coaches over the top of the old concrete grandstand. Boxes are include perforated acoustic ceilings and tiered seating to view the grounds. Rooms all have extensive frameless glazing with clear line of sight to the oval.

• Scope – External Fencing, Refurbishment of existing ground floor office and meeting spaces into Change Rooms with associated amenities, Freestanding Coaches & Officials boxes constructed over  existing grandstand flats.
• Project Delivery method – Traditional Architect/ Client agreement for services up to 40% documentation then D&C Construction Contract with consultant team novated to successful construction contractor.
