FPPV Architecture was engaged to design and document a new windbreak structure at the Victoria Police Academy in Glen Waverley, as part of a broader initiative to enhance the functionality and comfort of outdoor areas. The windbreak was developed to provide effective protection from prevailing winds, improving conditions for staff and recruits during outdoor activities and exercises.
The design carefully considers the unique context of the site, integrating seamlessly with the existing architectural language of the Academy while ensuring durability, low maintenance, and visual cohesion with surrounding structures. Materials were selected for their robustness and suitability for long-term outdoor exposure, with attention given to structural performance and user safety.
