FPPV Architecture were engaged by Mitchell Shire Council, in partnership with the Victorian State Government, to lead the redevelopment of the Wallan Community Services Hub. This project transformed a centrally located council-owned building into a modern, integrated facility designed to support a wide range of community services and programs.
The completed hub brought together community service providers and Council’s Community Strengthening Services into a single, cohesive environment. The design featured distinct yet connected spaces that enabled flexible service delivery, with consulting rooms, meeting rooms, a conference room, and shared kitchen, office, and amenity areas.
Focused on early intervention, family support, and child wellbeing, the facility offered a holistic and locally based service model tailored to the needs of the Wallan community. The reimagined space played a key role in supporting families, improving access to vital services, and fostering a safe, healthy, and resilient local community.
The refurbished hub was designed to be welcoming and inclusive—particularly for women, children, and young people—ensuring the space was not only functional but also uplifting and accessible.
Sustainability was a core principle throughout the project, with design strategies implemented to enhance environmental performance, energy efficiency, and long-term durability.
