FPPV has contributed to a range of projects at Parliament House, focusing on Universal Access enhancements, security and safety upgrades, restoration efforts, and modern adaptations. Through extensive studies and assessments of both chambers, we have developed a deep understanding of parliamentary operations and the functional dynamics of these spaces.
In the mid-2000s, FPPV played a key role in several studies and upgrades within both chambers, with particular emphasis on the Legislative Council Chamber. These works encompassed lighting improvements, general restoration of the building fabric, and enhancements to the public and media viewing galleries.
Notable modifications included the introduction of frameless glass balustrades, which improved gallery safety while preserving the integrity of the heritage balustrade.
The Legislative Council Chamber Lighting Upgrade was designed to achieve contemporary workplace illumination standards while meeting the specific requirements of broadcast services. The new lighting scheme enhances energy efficiency and maintenance strategies, seamlessly integrating into and elevating the Chamber’s heritage significance.
Given the project's unique constraints, a meticulous and innovative design approach was essential to address installation challenges and ongoing maintenance needs. FPPV provided comprehensive architectural services, collaborating with specialist consultants to successfully deliver outstanding results within the defined construction timeframe.
