Requiring a complete fit out of a vacant tenancy, the Australian Red Cross Blood Donor Centre in Traralgon was the first of an initiative. This initiative has set out to create a series of uniform centers that reflect the rebranding and new direction of the organisation. The Centre is a destination for the donor; it provides a relaxed environment with comfortable amenities which encourages a supervised visit for the prescribed period of time after donation.
The Traralgon Centre has been developed with the comfort of the donor and staff as a primary factor. All aspects of the Centre, including temperature control, are tailored to this. With use of timber, soft furnishings and detailed joinery the Centre provides a relaxed informal environment upon entry which extends throughout the Centre to the open collection and staff areas. Implementation of considered graphics and signage which is used throughout the Centre provides a positive contribution to each space which informs and reinforces to the donors of the importance for their donation.
